This must be one of the simplest desserts to prepare but your guests will never forget it. The creamy mascarpone blends with the sweetness of the figs to make the perfect ending to a barbecue meal.
Preparation: 5 minutes
Cooking: 3-4 minutes
Total: 9 minutes
4 teaspoons melted butter, for brushing
4 tablespoons mascarpone
honey, to serve
Preheat a barbecue hotplate or grill rack to medium - high heat. Cut the figs in half lengthwise and brush the cut sides with a little melted butter.
Place the figs, cut side down, on the barbecue and cook for 3 - 4 minutes, until the figs begin to soften.
Remove from barbecue and arrange on a small platter, cut side up. Dollop ½ tablespoon of mascarpone over each fig half, then drizzle with honey to serve. (Multiply up the recipe, depending on the number of guests.)
